GENETIC DIVERSITY OF FIELD MUSTARD (BRASSICA RAPA L.) AND THEIR SATURATED AND UNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS ASSOCIATION

چکیده
The oilseed crop improvement for Brassica rapa L. (field mustard) is considered to be important in respect of yield production coupled with unsaturated fatty acids the existing cultivars. Hence, genetic diversity, and nutritional components 14 B. cultivars were evaluated based on their attributes acid profiles at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. These differed significantly grouped into five diversified clusters. highest intra-cluster distance was found cluster II (2.43), while inter-cluster between clusters V (20.41). In profile, maximum threshold acceptable level (<7%) saturated human consumption Sonali Sarisha BARI Sarisha-14. total monounsaturated viz., oleic, eicosenoic, erucic ranged from 62.74% Sarisha-15 69.51% Sarisha. oleic eicosenoic obtained local variety, Maghi (21.06%) Improved Tori (9.08%). essential linoleic linolenic (17.10%) (8.16%), respectively. However, cultivar Maghi, containing has lowest (35.53%). On other hand, Sarisha-14 contained (17.22%) (44.02%) acids. negative strong correlation also reinforced reverse relationship Similarly, both (-0.497) (-0.443) showed a acid. As whole, Sarisha-14, Sarisha-15, Sarisha, could selected as potential parents hybridization program breed recombinant lines higher oil content healthier

متن کاملGenetic load and transgenic mitigating genes in transgenic Brassica rapa (field mustard) × Brassica napus (oilseed rape) hybrid populations
BACKGROUND One theoretical explanation for the relatively poor performance of Brassica rapa (weed) x Brassica napus (crop) transgenic hybrids suggests that hybridization imparts a negative genetic load. Consequently, in hybrids genetic load could overshadow any benefits of fitness enhancing transgenes and become the limiting factor in transgenic hybrid persistence. Two types of genetic load wer...
متن کاملIsolation and determination methods for brain cerebrosides, hydroxy fatty acids, and unsaturated and saturated fatty acids *
A new method is described for the isolation of nearly pure total cerebrosides from fresh brain. Florisil columns are used to separate the cerebroside hydroxy and normal acids, in the form of their esters, and to separate the saturated and unsaturated esters of each group. The esters within each class are determined by gas chromatography, the hydroxy esters being run as the methyl ethers. Yields...
